Yes, this place is a dump, but you can leave without breaking your lease!!! Do a coast-to-coast transfer. The only requirement is that you have been residing at the property at least 3 months. Then you can leave and transfer to another AIMCO property...anywhere in the US, I might add. No penalties, no lease breaking. You'll even get back your security deposit!! Of course, you'll have to pay a new security deposit in your new home, but anyone who got suckered into leasing from here will agree that it's well worth it. If you'd like more information, you can reach me at: editpro4hire@gmail.com. I'll be happy to give you additional details offline.

Coast to Coast is a good way to get out of this or any hell-hole that AIMCO owns, however be prepared to get screwed out of your deposit! As the people at Regency Oaks told me when I left, my "deposit would be transferred to my new community" Come to find out 2 years later that no such thing exists! As a first time renter, I had no clue. Now I am trying to figure out how to get my deposit back. Also, if you do Coast to Coast, YOU MUST GIVE 30 DAYS NOTICE OR YOU WILL BE CHARGED WITH EXTRA RENT AFTER LEAVING, which just happened to me. The things they simply don't tell you or lie to you about!

I live at am Amico owned apartment. It has a good rating 21%. Anyway I have gotten so angry I started looking up Amico. I have found the same complaints at all the Aimco properties. They all have roaches, dishonest staff, and maintaince people that occasionaly fix problems. Some of them have worse crime then others but you are essentially moving from the frying pan to the fire if you move to another Amico apartment.
