Infested trash pit. Move here if you like regretting your life.

When I was first showed these apartments, they took me into an apartment that was beautiful. They are a good size, standard apartment.
However, the one I moved into looked nothing like it, looks more like a meth lab. I currently have a huge rat that lives in my cieling, and every morning he wakes up the household to biting through the ceiling. He has put numerous holes in almost every room. Somehow, he isn't as bad as the infestation of roaches however. They lied to me, before I moved in, I asked if there was a roach problem because while viewing my apartment there was a large one running up the wall.. they said no, and if I feel like it I could have pest come every friday. What a lie, there are thousands of roaches sharing my BEDROOMS with me, kitchen, bathrooms, you name it. They are everywhere. I feel like I am living in Joe's apartment.
The AC has been installed with DUCT TAPE. My shower has hot water for 30 seconds before I freeze to death. I have already had that "fixed" which means they turned up the water heater which did absolutely nothing. I have 2 toliets. One does not even work at all, the other runs all day and rarely flushes without a fight. I have also had that "fixed" but it never was. My kitchen floor is so filthy, they told me they'd give me a new one, I have been here for half of a year, and I am still looking at the most disgusting piss yellow stained floor imaginable. I didn't have blinds for 4 months, so I was constantly having creepy men peering into my apartment. There was no wall behind the kitchen sink either. I could see rusty old pipes everywhere with roaches scattering about. The whole cabinet is lopsided from water damage, I can't even shut my dishwasher door correctly because maintenance's attempt to fix this means they glued random crap over the hole and taped the cabinet up. It is even shittier after they "fixed" it somehow.
Maintenance are the worst. I have left work in fits of anger thanks to them. Invading my home when no one was there, with specific orders no one enters my home when I am not there. I find them creepy and lazy. They never fix whatever they come there for, so it makes you wonder why they are galloping through your house. Office ignored my phone calls as if it was no issue.
I can never park near my own place either. I have to park a good building or 2 down before I can park into an itty bitty space, where your are right next to the other car, that constantly destroy my paint job by slamming into the sides with their car doors.
This place is horrible. HORRIBLE. I should of went with my gut instinct to not move in. Now I am trapped here rotting away like my nasty apartment.

Do a coast-to-coast transfer (fee is $500 and they'll waive the application and admin fee). It was certainly worth it to us who left "Roach" Oaks a few weeks back. We are now in another AIMCO property and frankly could not be happier. If you've been there at least 3 months, you qualify to transfer out. We had to downgrade to a smaller apartment, but it was certainly worth it!!!!

REPORT them to BBB. Only way to get out of lease unless you have a lawyer, then you can get out.. I was told go to office and ask to be released from lease they may just charge you for a months rent... I lived there for two years and left asap..I reported them for many things fighting, rapes, name it it happened there not to me tho but to others as you read on other reviews here.. I always say read reviews before renting. I now have the perfect ,cheaper place Im renting and couldnt ask for anything more ..Now I can save and buy a house next years..
