When you're a young person on a budget you think you can handle any hell hole as long as it's cheap ... WRONG!
This place spent money on a new fence that they could have spent on PEST CONTROL or sufficent maintenance. I've had to inject foam sealant into my ceiling to fill the holes the rat dug. They were there when we moved in and now there are more. The roaches are absolutely insane. It's a little better now that the HOLE IN THE WALL that was under the kitchen sink has been covered, but they are still not completely gone even after 2 pest treatments.
There are roofing nails and trash all in our back porch now from the ever-efficient roofers that were hired a couple weeks ago. They also yelled at people for walking out of their apartments because they were chucking trash off the roof and I'm sure they didn't want to be held accountable if they hurt someone.
Things that are currently not working properly or are damaged:
Garbage disposal doesn't work at all and the sink is clogged. In fact, if we run the dishwasher the dirty water fills the sink up.
Both toilets - One doesn't work at all and the other one runs all day; which increased our monthly water bill by $10.
The air conditioner is killing our power bill because the DUCT TAPE they used to hold it together is falling off and we had a friend look at it recently that works on AC's for a living and he said that it had pretty much NEVER been cleaned so that was yet another reason why the pipes were freezing, the apartment would never cool down, and our power bill was astronomical.
Kitchen cabinet sags so much that you have to have an all-out brawl with the dishwasher to open and close it.
The rest of the holes in the ceiling from the rat need to be sealed.
Outlets: most of them don't work and are so loose that plugs just fall out of them. I have 4 outlets with two plugs each in my room and I can only use 2 plugs OUT OF 8!! I have to use extension chords and power strips to plug things in in my bedroom.
None of the doors can EVER be removed from their hinges because they, and everything else in the apartment including the bathroom wall tile and various bugs, have been painted over so many times that they are permanently glued there.
The community laundry room has been broken for over a week now and the office says they have no clue when it will be fixed.
Water pressure in the sinks - can't do dishes without wearing a rain coat becuase the water pressure and temperature changes so randomly that you can't predict where it's going to go. Suddenly you're drenched while trying to rinse out a bowl. The last couple days the kitchen sink has been making weird loud noises if you try to use it.
So we have roaches, 2 broken toilets, dirty dishes, dirty clothes, an insane power bill due to our duct taped AC, and we can never sleep in again because the rat wakes up and goes to work on our ceiling around 8 AM. Basically, this place is hell on earth. If you like yourself, please save yourself the headache of living here.
