First, I have to tell you about the most serious issue I've had here. Honestly PETA, the SPCA or WSPA should boycott this apartment complex. We moved in and had extremely noisy neighbors (I'll get to them later). When they moved out, they left their two little kittens in the apartment!!! They were gone for a week when I finally noticed that their kittens were sitting in the windows meowing at us when we walked by. They looked hungry, weak and sick. I called the office about it and was told that animal control would be called. Well I went to the parking lot the next day and sure enough, there were the cats meowing at me. This is unacceptable!!! I called the office the next day (now this is 1 week and 2 days) and was told by a woman that she would go up to the apartment and check it out. A day later what do I see in the windows but the poor little kittens!!! What kind of people are they! I offered to take the kittens to the humane society or something if they only let me into the apartment but that was looked over. This is the most serious issue by far that I have with this place. Needless to say, as I'm typing this those kittens are getting weaker and weaker still sitting in that window. "Meow" translation "help me"
Secondly, the cold heartless people that left the kittens there in the first place were noisy. They played music anywhere from 9am to 12midnight. They couldn't care less that there were people living around them. Yes, I called the office and was told that they would get warnings, and eventually we were calling about them so much that I think the office gave them a 7 day notice. I have to say that the office staff responded to music problems very well.
Now about our A/C unit. We have to call every month in order to get the Freon re-filled so that it stays cool. That was the first 12 months of us living here. After we renewed out lease 4 months ago (we've been here 16 months so far) no longer so we need a re-fill of Freon. Now the issue is that it keeps freezing. Ice covered the whole thing and we have to turn it off, IN FLORIDA, and deal with the heat until the ice melts and we can turn it back on again.
Other maintenance problems we've had were toilet leaks, sinks and showers clogging, doors jamming, patio door unable to close, and windows that shake violently as people upstairs walk around. Although I must say that the run ins I've had with the maintenance staff have been pleasant. Even though I was frustrated with the things breaking the men were nice and polite to us.
When we moved into this apartment complex there was a very big brown stain on our ceiling in the bedroom. Scary... We told the office about this and nothing was said about it after that. Well a couple of weeks ago it rained up to about 3". What do we find when we went to our bedroom'!!! But there are new stains in other places on the ceiling. Including one that is in the shape of a long pipe line. We complained to the office and they sent these people over. The guy told us "yes that pretty bad. Call us if it starts to leak" WOW!!! Why would we have to wait until the roof starts to leak!' By then the damage would be so bad and our furniture would also be ruined.
Parking is ok in some areas but where we live sometimes you can not park near your own unit.
There is an increase in people walking around outside half dressed or in hoodies walking in groups. That s bringing down the look of the complex.
2 years ago they told us that they were going to make the community gated. That s a big reason we chose to move here. Well 3 months ago they finally got the gates installed and working. Not a week went by until one of the entrance gates were broken by someone and now it still has yet to work properly. Some nights the gates are closed and some nights they stay open constantly. Other security complaints I have is that the lights outside are very dim.
This is all I can think of off the top of my head. But trust me there is more. We already have plans of moving. Rent has gone up for us so much and it s just not worth it to stay here.
You can believe that we are going to take pictures of all of these things and if nothing is done we are going straight to the news cast!

Another week went by and I didn't see those little babies in the window anymore. I never found out what happened to them. :(
