My wife and I moved into Port Royale in 2001. We picked to live there since we could rent an apartment and also dock our boat at the same facility. The condo tower shares the docks with the apartments. Unfortunately, the docks are poorly maintained and there is a serious electrolysis problem due to a faulty electrical system. When some of the docks that the condo had needed to be dreged, our monthly dock rates suddenly went up from $250 a month to $350 a month. Needless to say we moved our boat a bit north (closer to the inlet!) for $190 a month.
We liked the amenities that Port Royale offered. The fitness center was great with new equipment. Unfortunately, there were a few families that let their children play in there without keeping a close eye on them.
The pools and hot-tubs were nice. A few families ruined the atmosphere by not watching their out-of-control children.
The apartments are old. We moved right as the association was putting in new "wood" floors. Don't be fooled, it isn't wood, but a cheap quality laminate. Anything is better than the carpet, though.
