better than some, but management a HUGE pain

first of all, the apartment itself is not bad, for the money. ive seen many worse places to live in gainesville, and some are more expensive.

however, dealing with the management here isn't worth any bargain you might get on the rent. The management mishaps began my very first day in the apartment. I live in a 3 bedroom place, and out of the 3 keys they issued me and my roommates, only one worked. we asked the management to get new keys made, and the new ones didnt work either. we asked a second time, and they either didnt believe us, or didnt care, as we never heard back about it again. we had no choice but to purchase and install a new lock on the front door ourselves. we have had a few other issues with the place- a constantly leaking faucet, a very poorly working AC unit due to air flow leaks (the laundry room is very cold), etc, to which the management has never responded. We found that the AC filter had not been replaced since April of 2007, nearly a year and a half earlier.

The neighbors seem to be of a somewhat older crowd, a bit too old to be students. This is usually a good thing.

theres most always parking available, and not too far away from whereever you might be. the dumpster is very close to some buildings but a bit far from the ones in the back.

having a washer and dryer unit in the apartment is very convienent, but overall the appliances must not be very energy efficient because we try to not be very wasteful but still end up paying 200$ in energy bills (although i hear this is very common in gainesville). one winter month we didnt run the AC at all, yet there was no difference in the amount we paid the next month, so im not quite sure what happened there.

the buildings look nice from the outside. the inside is also nice looking, but there are some bad areas, like cracked tiles or the closets smelling like cigarettes.
