Park Lane is a very nice apartment community. The landscaping is nice and always well kept. The pool, the billard room, and indoor basketball court are all nice too. The office staff have always been a help to me, and have always corrected any problems in a timely manner. Great community for kids. The have movie nights. They have held egg hunts at the club house on Easter. The layout of the apartsments are nice. The lofts are offer addtional office/living space for the one bedroom price. Parking doesn't seem to be an issue if you don't live in the CRA building. CRA buidling is the building with the store fronts underneath it. A lot of time I can't park in front of my bulding. No one like to make a hike across a parking lot to get to your car. As far as the inside of the apartments, they're nice for the most part. Quality and craftsman ship leave something to be desired. It appears as if things where thrown together in a hurry. Theres paint splatter on the tile in the bathroom, on the toilet, and on the walls. The moldings aren't straight, and the gas fire place is almost dangerous. (the "caution - hot when in use" signs are ugly too). The appliances are very nice. Their Maytag. Washer and dryer in every apartment. Location is not so bad. I drive to Shands everyday, and it takes 15- 20 mins with traffic. Noise in the apartment is minimal. One thing I will add though, is the plumbing can't be that great. When you wash clothes or run the dishwasher you hear the swooshing or draining noise from the kitchen sink. The business center is not built yet, neither is the weight room/gym but Park Lane battles that with free memberships to Gainesville Health and Fitness. One thig to remeber is that most people focus on the negativity if they've had a bad experience. No apartment community of perfect. Don't judge on just the problem, but instead the solution to the problem. Overall I like Park Lane very much. Its one of the nicest apartment communities in Gainesville. I just wished my built-in surround sound worked though. :(
Oh and that the icecream store and sub place where constructed..its still dirt floors

*I've never seen a homeless person walking in around Park Lane.
