Don't Rent Here. You'll Be Very Sorry

Antlers apartments are all friendly upfront but once they get you in here, then they forget you. Our apartment is so old. The ceiling is falling down in places. The cabinets are coming apart. The airconditioning and the heating always goes out. I have been here for two years and have always paid my rent a few days early. I have only complained once about solicitors coming to our door and they took care of that right away. Their gates are always broken. When signing a new lease for the second year, no matter how many times I asked them to fix the broken cabinets by replacing them because they kept breaking, they just did repairs. They never put anything new in. They just halfheartedly repaired the old stuff. After the second years lease was up I started the process of getting a house built for myself. I alerted the Antlers Manager Kathy that I would not be signing on for a third year and she stated that they had a policy that if a renter of theirs was moving out to their own house then they would waive the $75.00 month to month fee for 3 months. This worked well for me as it was going to take three months to build the house. Kathy had me sign a statement saying this but I didnt get a copy. She no longer works here and I was just informed that now I have to pay back fees of 75.00 for May's rent. Oh well. I guess I should have kept a copy of that letter but I trusted their friendly faces to do the right thing. Now when I talked to her on the phone today to find out exactly what was up and why the previous deal wasnt being honored, the new manager Natalie Long, stated that she knew nothing of this and they had no such policy. I got upset but I didnt get rude at all. I just expressed my frustrations about the situation and I got an indifferent attitude from her. Like she could care less and it was my problem. I asked her just to get to the bottom line and tell me what I owed her right now and she told me. I said I would drop a check off to her and also I wanted to give her notice that I would be moving out at the end of July. She said fine and hung up on me. How professional.
