Looks definitely can be deceiving

A couple of people have said they choose this place because it looks nice on the outside, but it's totally different on the inside. They're pretty much right on. I moved in with my roommates (they were in a 1-BR and we moved into a 3-BR) so I didn't really pick this place out, but it has a gate so it must be nice, right' Except the gate is broken half the time. Not a good sign.
Within two months of being here I developed a strange skin irritation that I've never had before. I don't know what to blame that on but it just sprung up out of the blue after moving in (mold').
Parking is a total joke unless you get home between 9am and 3pm and even then you have to get lucky. Three up-front spaces for 12 apartments' Who thought that one up'
Bugs are a problem, maybe a little more than some places.
Water pipes burst somewhere around my bathroom and flooded half of my closet. Happily I didn't lose anything of importance. Also during the recent heavy rain spells, water has leaked into the bedroom from the wall about a foot and it's not from the windows.
2nd bathroom has no medicine cabinet meaning all my stuff just gets thrown onto the table. Yeah that's helpful.
Patio collects dirt and water nicely (on the second floor') so if you want to take a swim you don't need to walk to the pool.
Walls are pretty thin. You can hear people next door as well as outside, walking up the stairs, etc.
3BR is pretty spacious which is nice. Bedroom windows are a little too big. I never had an issue with management but I never really dealt with them much. They don't bother to tell you if you have a package waiting for you and sometimes UPS and FedEx don't leave a notice. I've often gone in there to see dozens of packages filling up that little room and even packages on the front counter because they ran out of room.
Never had a problem with the maintenance. They were fairly quick to fix the flooding problem I had so no complaints there. The only minor issue was the washing machine which didn't close right (the door hits the wall next to it) and maintenance blamed it on something totally unrelated to anything, probably because they either didn't know or didn't want to replace it.
Last little nuisance is the fact that there seems to be a huge family of lizards living in the bushes because every time I walk out to my car there are about a dozen of them scurrying around. My roommate calls it "walking through Jurassic Park".
I only had to pay $510 for my share which was very adequate but I wouldn't live here if I had to pay much more than that.
