This apartment complex was a nightmare. Overpriced, with tiny storage space. Every storage place is occupied by something else. The utility closet is filled by the a/c unit. The walk-in closet is filled by the water heater. There is no linen closet, and only a tiny coat closet. Very small apartments. Management consists of one very inefficient, difficult to reach property manager. Property Mgr unconcerned with maintenance issues or pest control. Infestations of roaches and termites are "normal" according to management. Malfunctioning appliances are of no concern. This was the longest year of my life. The only way out of the lease is paying an additional $2,000. Property is a waste of time and money. Rent increased at lease-end at an exorbitant rate. In my opinion, this place is barely legal, if at all.

From: Debra Prendergast, Manager. WOW, did you not see the space before you leased? I am in agreement that two closets are provided with a stackable washer/dryer and an A/C/ heat pump unit. However, the W/H does not fill up the walk in closet. ? In 2000-2001 I worked 14-16 hour days Monday-Friday in this office. It is unreasonable and untrue to state that I couldn't be reached. There was never an infestation of any bugs at Belle Rive. I can defend that with meticulous records. Our termination fee in 2000-2001 was equal to one months rent, which would have been at most-$645.00 I have never encreased rent more than $20.00 at the end of a lease unless they had been undermarket for the entire lease, which in that case, they had gotten a deal for a very long time.
