We found Bentley Green by luck last year, and we're glad we did. They're always painting/upkeeping the buildings, which are about 15 years old. The grounds are usually well-kept, but sometimes dog owners don't pick up after their pets--kids, don't play in the lawn. There are three ponds with lots of ducks, four swimming pools (the one by the rental office is the nicest one, of course), and a pretty good air-conditioned fitness center that would be a little better if all of the treadmills worked adequately. Maintenance is friendly and has always showed up in a reasonable timeframe, and we don't really have too many problems with the appliances. One thing though--the water heaters tend to get old, and our upstairs neighbors' exploded and leaked on us, but the maintenance worker and a carpet cleaner showed up within a half hour to take care of everything. Our carpets got soaked pretty good during that incident, so the apartment sent someone to clean the carpet and change its padding. The office staff is pretty friendly and they've never given us any problems whatsoever. They DO require that your rent is paid exactly on the first, though, or else they'll charge you a fee. It's pretty quiet around here, but you can hear loud neighbors through the bathroom. The whole complex is less than a block away from Blockbusters and a grocery store, about a half mile away from two other grocery stores, a bunch of banks, restaurants, and, my favorite, Marble Slab Creamery. The area is about two stoplights down from I-95, but the apartments are situated on a quiet "back" road. Cats and dogs of all sizes are allowed. There's covered parking, but sometimes you have to battle with your neighbors to get one of those spots. There's also a nice outside porch that I would probably enjoy more if it didn't smell like mold. For the most part, though, Bentley Green is honestly the best apartment I've ever lived in.
