My boyfriend and I lived in a 2/2 1025 ft2 second floor apartment from Feb 08-Feb 09. Desiree was our leasing agent, and she was great. From the moment I called Bermuda Cove asking for information to the very end she was always helpful. She made sure that we got a military discout because my boyfriend was in the Navy (saved us $42 a month). When we got to move into the apartment, Desiree did a walk through with me; however, one wasn't done with us at the end, but hey, that's fine by me. Bermuda Cove does have a pet policy, but like other things, it is basically "don't ask, don't tell." We got two kittens halfway through our lease and they never knew. *shrug*
Once in the summer our air conditioner quit working. We called the maintainence team, and they brought us a window AC unit because the big outside unit had killed over. They got it fixed the next day.
There is a $40/month washer and dryer option. Essentially you rent a WD from them if you don't have one.
We never heard our neighbors while we were indoors until someone was screaming/fighting at the top of their lungs outside. During our 12 months living at Bermuda Cove, we received 3 crime notices. One criminal mugged some cigarettes off of someone after midnight. Another tried breaking into a first floor apartment through the sliding glass door but the dog inside scared him away. Thirdly, a person was mugged of her wallet after 11:30pm.
Bermuda Cove is on Hodges Blvd, which for the last year or more has been under construction. When the water did go out, all apartments were notified and given instructions. A water line had burst a mile or so down Hodges, so yes, in order to have same drinking water, we were directed to boil it first. But for anyone who lives in Jacksonville, you know that boiling it in general is the best bet because it isn't very sanitary.
The complex is half a mile from a small shop area with a Blockbuster, Publix, Lifestyle Family Fitness gym (highly recommend), two banks, restaurants, Starbucks, Walgreens, and more.
The only reason we did not extend our lease at Bermuda Cove was because we were going to be moving out of state in 3-4 and the month-to-month price was too much for us when we had another option to move in with a friend.

Obviuosly the person that wrote this review most likely has very low standards of living to think that this dump is anything short of a dressed-up slum. All the other reveiws by the other former and prsent tenents can't possibly be that wrong.
