Not worth the money

Its cheap compared to other apartments around Jax but you get what you pay for.

The parking lot is dark at night and there's never anywhere to park because of people who don't even live here, hogging all the parking. My mom and I usually have to park at an opposite building and we've been here longer than all the people in our building!

You are constantly being watched when leaving or entering your car or apartment, which may account for what occurred a few nights ago: a woman's car was missing when she woke up one morning, my brother found the window to his car shattered and his radio was stolen, and my ----ing NEW car has scratches on it and the door doesnt work because someone attempted to break into it!! Apparently some guys went around on a stealing spree that night.

There are always too many people hanging around that don't live here. Its hard to tell who is supposed to be here because there are different cars every night! Children run around uninattended to during the afternoon. Don't be suprised if you happened to walk outside and see a football fall onto your car.

The office lady, Wendy, is about the only thing nice about this place. She's pleasant, and friendly (even when she goes up on the rent; which has happened EVERY time we renewed) and will listen to your concerns. As for maintenance, we've been here since 2005 and had some plumbing issues within the first year, and it didnt get fix until the fall of 2007. Not to mention the guy who fixed it doesn't work here anymore, nor does the guy after him.

They have random inspections for which they'll notify you only a day or two before-hand. People steal your clothes out of the laundry center; which by the way, the price to wash u clothes has gone up $0.50 a load. The mail boxes are very raggedy. I have my packages sent to my friend's house, because I just dont trust those boxes, (wind could blow them open). And be sure to let your delivery courier know not to leave you package at the door; you might not get it.

As for the apartment itself, its nothing special. More on the dingy side. The A/C and heat doesn't flow even throughout the apartment. For instance, if the A/C is on 60, it'll be freezing in one room and hot in the other. The air may be leaving out the same way the lizards get in (YES, Lizards! have gotten inside on three occasions). We never saw any pests other than mosquitoes until recently; every now and then, you'll see a roach. Outside, at night time, pests roam your doorway, so you have to be cautious when you open the door or you'll aiding mosquito bites the next morning.

The cabnetry in the bathrooms and kitchen look fine at first glance, but after living here, I've learned better. There is NO storage space at all.

Noise is not always a problem. But you can easily here cars driving, and horns or alarms going off, by as well as people walking by talking and what not (and we have an up stairs unit). I've never heard my neighbors INSIDE their apartment, but you can hear them very well if they are outside, or if you're outside and their inside.
On occasion, you'll hear loud music or people in the street talking at night sometimes as late as 3am!

We have a 2 bedroom 2 bath and the square footage and layout is similar to that of Mission Pointe's 2 bed/2 bath (just reverse the dining room and kitchen). I'd recommend Mission Pointe over Campus oaks! Yea the rent is $100 more, but the grounds are nicer, quieter, and the Water is free!

With all these issues at Campus Oaks, its pretty hard to believe that they are located RIGHT next to (I mean you can stand on both sides of the fence at one time) FCCJ's North Campus and it's Police Academy. Don't let that sway you to believe the apartments must be nice and safe because they are the exact OPPOSITE!
