OK, so the apartment complex was completed almost a year ago, but the name of the apartment was changed from Walden at Bartram Springs to Century at Bartram Springs just a few months ago. Ever wonder why they had to do that' Or wonder why they won't actually tell you who owns the property' There's definitely a reason.
I have a lot more to write about this place but I'm saving it until either my lease is up or I move (whichever comes first) because I'm afraid of retribution from the apartment management. And yes they really are that juvenile. If they would unethically and fraudulently post anonymous cheerful things on this website to fool people about what really goes on here, then I really wouldn't put anything past them.
What I've seen & experienced here will make your jaw drop...just be patient for a few months until I post again.

Usually properties change management for one reason: problems with the management.
I've asked the property manager several times who owns Century at Bartram Springs and how to contact them but was refused each time. I find it very interesting that an internet search of First Communities yields no results, however automatically yields a suggestion of "First Communities Property Management" also yielding no actual results. This indicates a company that doesn't wish to be found easily and a large number of frustrated residents trying to find them.
It took a bit of digging, but the company that "supposedly" manages Century at Bartram Springs is First Communities Reality Incorporated, based out of Atlanta, Georgia. This company manages other properties such as Century Park West, Jackson's Landing, Wood Terrace, Berkley Landing, and Flagstone Village. Interesting to note that each of these properties, as well as the management company have a HORRIBLE reputation.
Here are the hard facts:
In 2004, Duval county granted a permit for construction of Walden at Bartram Springs, an apartment community of 268 apartments valued at $12.5 million. The apartments were designed and constructed by the Thomas & Hutton Engineering Company of Savannah, GA for the owner at the time, United Residential Properties, of Macon, Georgia (also the owners of Walden at Oakley, Walden at Providence, Walden Creek, etc).
In 2006, the current owner of the property, Roy B. Walden III, formed a limited liability company, Walden at Bartram Springs LLC which had its legal status revoked after merging with Carlyle Centennial Bartram Springs in July 2007. The property is currently assessed at a value of $24.3 million, nearly doubling the amount that it’s worth in just 3 years.
So what does all this mean?
Basically, you have:
An owner, forming corporations in three different states under different names with the express purpose of limiting his liability of ownership.
A management company that is difficult to find and contact and manages properties that have been described by residents as “thug haven,” “the worst,” “horrible,” and “worst management company.”
An apartment staff that disrespects its residents and refuses to offer them a means of recourse when their management skills fail to get results.
All the while, we, the residents are paying through the nose for some of the most expensive apartments in Jacksonville while all of the above people sit back on a healthy profit of more than $5.52 million every single year.
And by the way, because of my experiences here I AM looking into BUYING something.

They've told me who owns it. The owners and management company is First Communities. Do you know how many times a property usually changes management companies? Quite a bit. It's an apartment complex. If you don't want to deal with what comes along with that then you should look into BUYING something.

I don't know if this person will come AFTER ME, so I will remain unknown but I do feel that you have some nerve writing this response, please for all of us GET A JOB! (OR a LIFE!) It is an apartment complex and CLEARLY you have nothing better to do with your time than write DEFAMATIONS against a community that you know NOTHING about.
