We broke out lease to get out of here.

My husband and I moved here from out of state as he was stationed here while in the navy; not knowing which areas were good and bad. The apartments looked decent, pretty homey inside for our first place together, but the neighborhood is what scared us away. Upon living there were two gang fights in our parking lot. We felt extremely unsafe living here and after 5 months paid the penalties to break our lease. Our neighbors in four different surrounding buildings would sit all day and night (Everyday) as if they didn't have a job, literally outside on the steps or their porches smoking pot, with nothing better to do than to harrass any woman that walked by. My girlfriends would come to visit and be subject to sexual harrassment. It became an everyday occurrence where I was treated like a piece of meat, where I would come home from school, work, even for groceries. Being that my husband would be deployed to sea I'd be by myself and felt extremely unsafe to come home from my work at night. My first time going to the pool, I was literally watched by some perv who came from his apartment and literally stood in plain view staring at me the whole time until I got out. We complained to the front office wanting to see if anything possible could be done, and they told us they'd send a security patrol more to that side of the complex. That did not happen, nor did anything change. It's definitely not safe! Don't live on this side of town (the northside)!
