Looks nice until you move in....

We were drawn to Colonial Forest because it seemed like a pleasant community. However, I can tell you that we have lived here for a few years, and each year it goes more downhill. Our deposit/pet deposit was stolen by the office clerk at the time (thankfully she had made a copy of the money order and stuck it in our file, so the manager believed us or we would not have gotten the apt.) The list of repairs we made upon our initial move-in was never corrected, and we had to stay on them about replacing our A/C and ceiling fan. Our car window was busted out and the local police could do nothing about it. We also witnessed our neighbor's apartment being broken into (they threw a drain pipe through her sliding glass door). Drug dealers break the gates every time they get repaired and they also bust out the lights too (there is a lot of drug activity here). Recently we heard from a woman who has an apartment on the other side of the community who had her apartment broken into by people climbing up into the easily accessible attics and kicking in her ceilings. We have also had our laundry stolen from the laundry facilities. Although it is under new management and the new office staff is nice, we fear for our belongings and personal safety. We will not be renewing when our lease is up, because it simply is no longer safe here.
