There are new faces and new management again at Creekwood and finally someone cares about the residents! Yes the new manager is very strict with the rules, but we sign a lease knowing the rules, what makes us as resident think it's ok to break them when we feel like it.
Yea she sent me a late rent notice after I called to say I'd be late and believe me I was mad, but she explained that due to fair housing or something like that if they sent one notice out they had to send them to everyone who was late - i guess to say that they weren't showing favoritizm or something.
Work orders are getting completed in a reasonable time frame and they come back if something doesn't seem quite right. Nice change from the old maintenace who only seem to fix their friends' apartments.
Overall doing a good job & said they're getting certified with something with the Sherriff's office to keep the drugs out - they even let the K-9 dogs train in a empty apt - kind of freaked me out the first time - I went to the back of the property one day and they had like 10 cop cars and dogs!! But the cops said they were there for training and no bad issues.
I like the new people so far and whoever wrote about roaches probably caused the problem themselves or wasn't "friends" with the old maintenance people, because any time I've seen a few - they had pest control over in a week or two and the problems didn't continue.
It's a nice place to live with good consistent service - look into it big apartments for reasonable cost.

I know what you mean about the empty apartments, but many of those that are newly empty were bad people with bad problems. Washer/Dryer hookups in a one bedroom - good luck neighbor!! Those are hard to find at the rate your're paying in a decent neighborhood - they didn't build apartments that way in 1975! I asked the manager about it and she said from her experience it was either so expensive the apartment rent would no longer be affordable or no way to do it because of building codes with the drainage for the washer!
We all have a 5 day grace period before late fees are charged, do what i do wait until the 5th & put your rent in the night drop after they close, but before they open the next morning. They will charge you a late fee if you try to pay on the 6th or later, which is fair because it's in the lease!
Drama from neighbors happens EVERYWHERE not just Creekwood, if you ever find a completely drama free place to live let us all know - because unless you own like 30 acres and live in the middle of nowhere, it doesn't exist!!
I'd pay for the convenience of the neighborhood any day over spending $100 or more a month for a smaller apartment.
Overall Creekwood is a peaceful community and I love my apartment, I'll only move when I can afford to buy a house!

I have been searching over Jacksonville and I have found MANY apartment communities with spacious one bedrooms with washer and dryer hook ups that were reasonably priced in decent neighborhoods, but my next step is ultimately to purchase a home. When I had to renew my lease under the new management there was no mentioning of the *grace* period. (I am familiar with the grace period from previous management). The lease stated that the rent is due on the 1st and any day after that there would be a 100 late fee. The townhome I am in has a major slant in the floor upstairs and I am glad this is just a stepping stone for me before I purchase a home. With all of the playgrounds and parks and renovations they are doing, I really doubt washer and dryer connections would kill them. But then again, now that I think about it, I have been having quite a few leaks in my upstairs bathroom, so a washer and dryer would probably be just more hell.
