My husband recently moved from the dunes and still arent sure if we made the right decision. There were many things that we absolutely loved about The Dunes and the office staff, we will miss them.
Goods.... The grounds are always clean. The community is exceptionally quiet and the neighbors know eachother and look out for eachother. I lived there for a year and never saw a single bug inside our apartment. The pool is beautifull and meticulously maintained. Maintnence is awesome and very prompt with any complaint. Everyone lives on the premises and you can reach anybody at pretty much any hour if there is an emergency. Jan watches out for her tennants and has even risked her safety to chase suspicious people off the property. They are cheaper and safer than anywhere else in jacksonville. I dont know how they do it. They were even pleasant at move out and we didnt deserve it.
Bads..... The apartments are old and have a sort of dingy look. Clean but often dreary inside and out. The cabinets and doors are all a dark dark brown and the carpet is a darker beige, also the walls are a darker creme color so it gets kind of depressing to stare at over time. NO WASHER AND DRYER!!! This is seriously the main reason we moved, simply because I dreaded doing the laundry. It was extremely inconvenient for two full time working parents. The only other reason was that they have a no pet policy and are seriously strict with all rules. You could be evicted for even having an animal in your apartment for a minute, and they are so on top of it that they would know!
Nothing actually bad to say, I think I miss them already, but I am enjoying doing my laundry at home :)

After reading all of these reviews, I am so glad that I have heard about this "Jan" person...My spouse just got a job in Jacksonville and we have been diligently searching for apartments all over Jacksonville. It is so rare to find a place that has strict management that ACTUALLY enforces the rules, and I am definitely going to stop by and check this place out. THanks!
