Be Careful - Wouldn't Recommend It!

We moved into the Enclave after moving to Florida; and while we searched for a home. We signed a clause to break our lease in the event of buying a home - the penalty was payment of an extra months rent ($1200!). We lived in the apt. for four months.
From the time we moved in until the time we moved out the fire alarm immediately outside our bedroom window beeped incessantly. The day we moved in the manager assured us it would be fixed in a few days. Yet it continued to beep tens of times a minute for months! Additionally, the things we noted as needed fixing upon move in inspection(grout in the bathtub, carpet pulled up in the hallway) were never fixed.
However, the kicker is return of deposit. It's now been four months. Two weeks after we moved out (and after paying our $1200 fee), we received notice we had forfeited our deposit - no other explanation! The notice required written response if we disagreed, so I complied. I never heard anything back. When I called, no one knew anything. When I finally got through to the manager, she said she'd made a mistake - we got the notice because she was thinking we deducted our deposit from the fee!!!! I've had innumerable phone conversations with her since then, the home office messed up, the checks in the mail, now as soon as they ask who's calling, the manager's too busy to take my call!!!
VERY IMPRESSIVE AND PROFESSIONAL!!!!

Just so you know...if you dont get a letter or your deposit back within 30 days they forfeit their right to it by law. SO, even if your apartment was a mess they would still owe you your money back!
