I lived here from May 2003 until August 2003. I had to move due to employment. I have read the previous negative reviews. The staff has changed since then and they are very nice and helpful. In my building we had someone who was playing his stereo too loud. I casually mentioned it to the leasing manager and she sent a notice that if they had to be spoken to again about their stereo (this was the third time) that they would have to move. I will admit that the tennis courts are not in good condition and they will probably be removing them, so if you really love playing tennis, you will be disappointed. The pool is very nice and clean. My big concern, since I was moving from the north, was roaches. This complex has the exterminator there every Wednesday. If you want your apt. sprayed, just call the office before Wed and let them know. The maintenance staff is very conscientious and has been there for awhile. There is not a high turnover here of maintenance staff or office staff. The complex is very quiet and you cannot hear your neighbors. However, if they are outside your apt. (these are garden style apts.) you can hear your neighbors if they are talking loud or laughing, etc. My neighbor had a party that I didn't know about because I could not hear the music until I stepped out of my apt. The guys were going outside to smoke and were laughing and carrying on, then I could hear them--not everything, just their voices. The neighbors here are very nice and considerate, so I'm sure if I had asked them to keep their voices down, they would have. The parking is excellent. There are plenty of spaces for you and your friends who would like to visit. They accept pets and I found were very pet friendly. Please feel free to email me with questions if you would like. The rent was average for the Southside area of Jacksonville. One person complained to me that she thought the pet deposit was high, but other places in the area charged a deposit and a monthly pet fee. Evergreen does not charge a monthly pet fee. I found the complex to be very safe (I am a single female). They do run specials, which they will tell you.
