Flagship Properties is a Very Bad Choice
From: SPR32206Date posted: 5/8/2007
Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007
Flagship Properties has ignored the many problems at their apartments throughout Jacksonville, FL. Their apartments are overrun with crime, drugs, and prostitutes. The manager for the 6th St West apartments has tried to help, but she answers to the corporate office and they refuse to address the issues.
The VP of Regional Management Ann Atarra, and the owner/VP-Treasurer William H. Walton Jr., are well aware of the problems. They are more interested in the huge amounts of money from HUD than fixing the problems. We have tried to work with them for 4 years: numerous emails, letters, phone calls. JSO has offered law enforcment advice that they do not adhere to.
The FL Times Union ran an article regarding the increase in murder rates last summer. Right smack in the middle of all this were properties owned by Flagship.
I have met some of the law-abiding residents at Flagship. They are just as tired of the crime and drama as the home owners who live nearbye, and many of them move out to escape it. My sister lived in the University Plaza apartments and was constantly in fear for her life.
If something is not done to correct this, one of the law-abiding Flagship residents, or the residents who live surrounding the apartments, are going to get killed.
