I moved into Glenwood Apartments in September of 2008. I have not had any problems so far and love the complex!
The complex itself is very quiet, as the tenants tend to be older. And because all apartments are 1-bedroom, there are no children (at least I haven't seen any.) The apartments themselves are also quiet. I haven't once heard my neighbors through the walls! Although the complex is older, it is very sturdy which is important in a hurricane-prone area and the apartments are in nice condition.
They have on-site maintenance who I see on a regular basis painting, mowing, and taking excellent care of the buildings and landscaping. The other day they used bleach solution to clean all the siding; I was impressed with this attention to detail.
Parking is plentiful and I have always been able to park very close to my front door. There is also adequate lighting at night, so I feel very safe where I am living.
As far as amenities go, there is a very nice pool in the middle of the complex. There is also an onsite laundry room with 10 washers ($1.00 per load) and 10 dryers ($.25 per 12 minutes).
Management is friendly, but straightforward. You can tell they truly care about running this complex well. Problem tenants should not bother applying, because this complex won't put up with any crap!
The location is great. The complex is 2-3 minutes from Beach & University and about 5-10 minutes from Bach & Southside. There is a Walgreens, Starbucks, McDonalds, Winn Dixie, Bailey's Gym, and gas stations within 5 minutes.
If you are looking for a quiet, safe, and affordable place to live I recommend Glenwood Apartments.
