Okay, I'll start by saying this place isn't perfect. We have loud drive-bys, teenagers who loiter in the front of the building... any of these issues can be handled by just going out and talking to them if they annoy you. The former neighbors upstairs were a problem, but if you address the staff about it, they WILL handle it for you.
And that's what is so great about this complex: the service/staff. Lana and Chanda are the nicest gals I've ever met in an apartment office! They know me every time I walk/drive by, and are always willing to help out, even if it's not related directly to my lease.
We had a water heater issue last week, and within 1 day they came, looked it over, and replaced the entire thing! That's great, cuz now our electric bill will lower a LOT.
There isn't a problem with insects in the buildings. The garbage pickup can take a while sometimes, but mostly it's not an ugly picture.
These buildings are over 30 years old, I found out. But they're built very well. You can hear your neighbors only if they put their stereos or surround-sounds on high. It's not so bad, sometimes they just need a reminder that they're not the only ones in the building!
I'm paying for the 2/1 now, and we just moved from a 1/1 there a few months ago. The increase in rent wasn't much, and we have LOTS of space for the money. We wouldn't want to live anywhere else for a while. It's just too nice and reasonable to leave.
