I moved to Jacksonville a few month ago and when I was looking for a place to live, I checked every single place around this area and read all the reviews, talked to tenants, neighbors, everyone I can talk to. In the end, I chose Hunter's Way for the following reasons: 1) It's safe 2) It's quiet 3) Very friendly staff 4) inexpensive 5) People of all ages 6) Working class people, no scum bags or gangs
Having said all that, the apartments are a little outdated but you sort of get what you pay for. The apartments on the inside are adequate, nothing spectacular, but it's really the staff and the people that make it really nice.
I love the fact that kids feel safe to run around and play. The ice cream truck comes around here almost every day and that's nice to see. The enviromnent is really friendly.
To the person who said you can't have surround sound, well enious, you live in an apartment complex and if you want to blast your surround sound maybe you should go buy a house. This is a quiet neighborhood and it should stay that way.
As for the staff, let me tell you one story. I rented a one bedroom apartment that was in the process of being remodeled. The company in charge of remodeling it screwed up the cabinets a couple of times. The staff were most understanding, they put me in a two bedroom apartment while my apartment was ready. They even helped me move my stuff from the two bedroom to the one bedroom apartment.
I love this place and I will be here for a while.
