3 year tenant - Enjoyed living here

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2009
I moved here from California in 2006, I didn't come out here to Jacksonville and scout for a place, I just found the place online and relied a lot on this website, so I now feel the need to return the favor. In light of reading some of these reviews, I will offer my opinion and maybe some explanations. The apartments are nice and new, built in 2004, and it shows. I live on the bottom floor and yes at time I do hear some thumping or banging, however, I have never heard TVs, music or voices. Naturally, the biggest concern is crime. I personally, have not experienced any problems, whether it be my apt, my person, or my car and my car is a convertible, which is usually more susceptible to burglary. Although, admittedly there was an escalation in car burglaries during the first part of 2008; however management was aware, informed the residence, and since that time car burglaries seems to have decreased and I am not aware of any recent burglaries. The front office is very friendly and has been very helpful and cooperative with me on several occasions. The maintenance staff has always responded within 24 hours - and I only needed them to provide and replace a light bulb for the kitchen track lighting. The grounds are well kept. The fitness center has been recently expanded and they extended and added a covered patio to the pool area. There are, in my opinion, only 3 areas that need improvement. (1) The trash compactor: for some reason there is only one for this rather large community, so yes, mainly on the weekends, the trash overflows and the trash begins piling up outside of the compactor. However, every morning, b/c there is always maintenance staff on duty, even the weekend, and the trash is picked up and placed in the compactor - but this does need to be fixed. (2) The parking. For some reason, they do not assign parking, therefore, sometimes you get a parking spot right in front of your apt and sometimes you don't, and on a few other occasions, parking is difficult to find. (3) The entry gate does tend to break down a lot and although it is always repaired quickly, I would like to see it replaced. Final analysis I would recommend living here.
