I have lived in the Driftwood side of the apartment complaex for 6 months. The entire time that I have lived at this apartment complex I have had nothing but problems. But here recently I have had the most trouble. I payed my rent on 2/27/2009 with a cashier's check from my bank at Vystar. I then get a three day notice on the 4th ( I think it was the 4th) that I owned the $678. I then contacted the office and Margie ( Who I personally handed the check too.) Said that my check was miss placed in the office and if I could get a copy of the check so she can look through her files of checks that were deposited. From this point on it has been a battle with them. I have witnesses that heard Margie say that she remembers me handing her my check but she must have miss placed it. I have a witness that saw me hand her my check as well. At this point I offered to do a stop payment on the cashier check and issue another one to them. I contacted my bank who said in order to do a stop payment on a cashier check that the apartment complex will have to fill out a leaderhead stating that they lost the check and will not try and cash it if it was found. THEY REFUSED TO DO EVEN THAT!So i had to call my bank who cancel the stop payment and my rent has still not been found. They are now in the process of evicting me. THEY LOST MY CHECK AND IM GETTING EVICTED! Bull Crap! I hate this apartment complex. The management sucks. They wont work with you. They rip you off on everything. I pay m,y rent every month before its due! The water cuts off during they day and we get no pressure. They the hot water doesnt really work during the winter time. Just dont move here. Save your self the headache!

why did you pay with a cashiers check , Use regular checks to pay rent

Its a shame that you blame others for your irresponsibilty. If they really wanted to, you would of gotten kicked out by having 6 more people living with you in a one bedroom that were ilegal occupants! I live there at Kentwood/Driftwood Apts. and Margie is a sweet, responsible, caring and an understanding person. There is no way that she would of made that kind of mistake. I believe that you were just trying to get out of paying your rent. Vystar doesn't need a letter from the apartment complex in order to cancel you cashiers check. I have done it before, and I have also gone to Vystar headquarters as well. There is no excuse to not paying your rent.
