The other reviews on this site are very accurate in their depiction of life and surroundings at Lakeside. Let's start with day 1 when we saw the model, at that point they beg you to stay and make it seem really nice. When you make that horrid mistake and agree you have to accept all the consequences of your actions. Because the actual apartment you get is hell on earth.

Our apartment was never finished (cleaning or repair when we moved in). The maintenance guy Dennis is a nice person, but surrounded by a bunch of idiots. The managment staff soon became unpleasant and a nightmare to deal with on any level (extremely unproffesional). The safety officer is actually JSO (Jax Sherriff) and he's absolutely useless - yes that's right officer Gene McDonald. Example; a car alarm goes off in the middle of the night and is intermittently going off for 24 hours - you call management and she says they have no authority to remove a vehicle that is not even listed as being a resident!

There were numerous stories from neighbors about apartments being broken in - yet as mentioned before the presence of JSO in residence did nothing to deter the crime and feeling of terror you get living at Lakeside. An apartment across the road from us was a 2 bedroom with at least 11 mexican construction workers! Do I need to mention the bugs, constant harrassment from noisy neighbors, doors banging throughout the night, leaking A/C, no fire extinguisher, and the numerous sex offenders on site (yes, go and check it out)! This place is not suitable for families.

All in all, the worst experience we've ever had. Friends hated to visit for obvious reasons. The only saving grace this place has is the location But faced with all the other obstacles this place is not worth it. We were so glad to move out and have now found heaven on earth - it is nowhere near Lakeside apts.

Crime statistics are also available from JSO, which contradict the "terror" alleged by the author of the above letter.Mid America has a 30 day "Love It or Leave It" policy which allows a person to move if they are unhappy with their apartment. If they were unhappy with the move in condition, why didn't they exercise this option?
