This is my second time living in these apartments and Mayo's staff is the absolute worst. Maintenance is the absolute worst! I was here for damn near 2 months last summer with out air conditioning. Everyone who came told me something different was wrong. I finally had to talk to the then manager Paige who was the best to get my air fixed. You have to call and call and call. Each time you call they act like its the first time you have called. My neighbor has been going through the same thing. These apartments have mold in them. I have video taped and took pictures of a unit that had mold everywhere! This same unit has been vacant and untreated for at least 4 months. The manager will not talk to you, by appointment only but she still will not return your calls. They fired all the black maintenance people and only have bilingual -------- like there the only ones live out here. They have started putting trash and old furniture in the back and it looks horrific. Its embarrassing for you to invite people here! 2 people have been murdered here since I've been here

I had worked there in the office and tried to do my best for the tenants that I could. I was not in maintenance and had no control over that or even imput (the maintenace people did not like me). The lady that handles the rent payments and the one that signs out maintenace work orders are good people and I know they wish things were different. The owner company I think also cares but they just have not figured out that they need to focus on quality and the place needs real attention. The maintenance suppervisor is one of the smartest guys I have ever come in contact with and is also a great guy that I think if given the resources would have the place in top notch shape. He is hampered by tight budgets. They seem stuck with the maintenance guys that often just do not seem to care. They make the same amount of money each day if they fix your work order or if they "say they fixed it". There are some bad people that live there like anywhere but most of the problems come from "outside the complex". I have walked the grounds at all hours of the night and knocked on most of the doors during the day and evenings at one time or another. Ther is not probably one of you that I have not waved at or talked to. No resident ever treated me bad (OK there was this one lady who had mental things going on she was pretty nasty to me a couple of times) and I even felt a close kinship with them. I did not always agree with the current manager but I do know that she cares for the residents and is a great person but she is hampered with tight budgets and the lack of power to do anything on her own. Everything has to come from her boss. I miss the place not because of the people that paid me but because of the people that lived there. I saw and know what you are talking about as far as things just not being done. If I had a dollar for everytime I threw up from going into a moldy, nasty or flea infested apartment then well...I would be a rich person now instead of trying to make ends meet. The apartments that they fix up are nice and the rent is a really good deal but Unless you are a very strong willed person who is willing to make them do what they should be doing anyway it may not be an the place for you. You are going to have to threaten to complain to the city before the things you need done are done. At this place the sqeaky wheel is the only one that gets fixed.
