My son was forced to prepay for the entire year because I would not co-sign on the lease since I would not put my assets on the line not knowing the other roommates. Anyhow, when he moved in, there were mold issues big time in the ac vents and under the carpet. Nothing was done after 3 complaints. I even call Jax health dept. Still, nothing. It is the most noisy place on earth. You don't get any rest there. I slept in his bedroom for parents weekend at the school. NO SLEEP at all. The roommates they paired him up with were total pigs. Stinky dishes, etc. My son was forced to buy a small fridge and cram it in his room to avoid roommates stealing his food, etc, etc, etc, the list of complaints is too long for this review....NO REFUND WAS GIVEN EVEN THOUGH HE MOVED OUT IN MID JANUARY AND LEASE WAS PREPAID THROUGH AUGUST. HE WAS CONSTANTLY SICK FROM MOLDY VENTS.

City of Jacksonville came and inspected? Still nothing? Probably because they found nothing. The great thing about having little or no credit is you always have a loving parent that could co sign for you.

Nope. Upper response must be coming from Melrose staff. I had to have a friend co-sign with a strict agreement that I take care of ----, or there would literally be hell to pay. Melrose harrassed him if I was even a day or two late in rent. There are just some days where you need the extra time, even if you have to pay late fees, without someone calling you because Melrose sent them a letter.
And there's the problem with Melrose: They treat tenants as CHILDREN, not adults, no matter how well you handle situations. I really hope this company burns.
Oh, and look, some real contact info:
Melrose is owned by United Campus Housing. You can reach the vice president, Tim Roggen at tim.roggen@melrose.com
