An Utter Hell Hole

When I moved here I thought it was an ok neighborhood for the price. The management was nice, my apartment had a lot of upgrades, etc. This quickly wore off. The second day, my toilet backed up for some unknown reason. They came immediately to unclog it, but it just kept having the same problems. Then it got worse. At least once every week or so, the toilet overflowed and flooded the entire floor all the way into the hallway. (The toilet by the way, was made of plastic, like an RV toilet) I had trouble with my bathroom for 6 months before they would come fix it. And only then because I told them this was grounds for legally breaking my lease without penalty. When they did fix it, they had to replace the floor, since it was water damaged and moldy. They installed the floor while I wasn't there and left a HUGE mess. I still can't get the glue off the carpet in the hall. Then a week later, I discovered, becuase the new floor did not actually meet the wall, that they never took up the old floor, they simply put the new floor over the old one. So I am left with permanent mildew smell and a possible health hazard.
Neighbors are also noisy here all the time. Don't expect to get any sleep around here, except maybe during the day. Management doesn't do anything about it. My neighbors set FIRE in a tire right outside my bedroom window and had a parking lot party. 3 nights in a row in the middle of the week. My car hasn't been broken into, it has an obvious security system, but the car parked right next to mine was completely stripped, right down to the tires.
There have been peeping toms around here, so if you move here you need to make sure you buy some thick curtains. I only take trash out and get mail during daylight hours, but I have heard that neighbors have problems at night. I do not venture outside at night unless I have to. Police that live here don't do anything, neither do the security people who get free rent. They often don't even answer the pages. The hotline number for after hours isn't always reliable either.
Management is generally nice, but to get anything done, you have to know who to talk to. The others have a way of being nice, but not doing anything about the situation. Very patronizing. Don't just talk to anyone up there, ask to speak to an actual manager.
My lease is up soon and I will not be renewing. It's worth the extra money to live somewhere I can feel safe.

Same here, We thought they did a pretty nice job displaying there add on rent.com, We're from MI and we were really excited, We we're somewhat dismayed when we saw the condition of the appartment they first showed us, but it turned out, ours was even better than we thought it would be, "nice townhome with 1 1/2 baths and two bedrooms and very sapcious, 1350 square footage wise, and the Rpp program and water only being $20/mo. as a cap, of course I was ecstatic, if it seems to good to be true, it is!!!! I have so much to bad to report, and lets see, I'm not gonna lie, the good stuff... um lets see...the townhouses are big, that's it, but it comes at a very high price, YOUR LIFE!!! Our rent is only $722 p/mo. and our security deposit meant signing our death certificate, or lease as they call it, for 12 months!!!! We dont regret anything in life, We are thankful for who we am and what we have done, but we f@#*ed up this time. My neighbors dining room ceiling fell on her glass table and broke it and they asked her if she had insurance?!?!?!? They said they would not cover it, and she has been a great tenant that has lived here for almost 5 years, she's moving too. I moved in in Jan. '06, it's June 1st. The ceiling in our dining room seemed just fine until we took our first shower, shower, not bath, shower. A 3'x3' piece of the ceiling kept bulging noticeably that you knew water was in it, I called about 4 x's and finally it busted in, luckily I moved my cherry dining room set into the living room after knowing what had happened to my neighbor. They finally came to "fix" it. They patched the ceiling and didnt fix the leak, it still leaks every time we take a shower or if the rain is too strong outside, I feel like I'm poor or something because I have to put a bucket in the dining room to catch all the tub water. Oh yeah, and there is now three leaks. After "fixing" it as they called it, they told me they'd be back on Monday to re-popcorn the ceiling which is that ugly ---- that goes on the ceiling, that was in February, and rent was due on Saturday, how convienant, they still have come back to fix it. My downstairs bathroom toilet does not work correctly, I have to flush it literally 5 times in order for the pee to be flushed. After maintenance looked at it about 8 times, finally the maintanence admitted there was no fixing it because the management would have to tear up the floor, and fix it because it was cheaply installed to save money, but the bastards are still charging me for a half bath, $50p/mo. that I was advised no to "doodoo" in. So, I didnt, we used our upstairs bathroom because I didnt want it to back up, that's what they said would happen. Well it did, it has backed up EIGHT F#$@ING TIMES!!!!! And guess who has to clean it up? ME!!!!!! The ---- just floats around in my bathroom, that back up has ruined 4 bathroom rugs, the ---- is under the cheap laminate that is folding up around the front door that I was told was brand new, I can smell the mold when I come into the house, what am I supposed to do, tear it up? No thank you, and what get charged for that? Plus, I dont even want to know what is under there. When I moved in, it was supposedly clean. Whoever the cleaning team was, was too lazy to bend over and pick up six crayons I found sprayed/painted to the trim and carpetting that I guess was too much work for the painters to pick up as well. They also say that we have pest control, hahahahahahahahahaha. I am a neat freak and i vacuum everyday, I am also home everyday, supposedly once a month, taking turns, we are all supposed to get our homes sprayed, hahahaha, they have sprayed my house once in 5 mos.!!!! And upon doing so, walked into my clean home with mud all over his boots and came back out of the house in less than 30 seconds, how in the world did he spray?!?!?!?!?!?! My house is more than 1300 square feet!!! Also, when my husband and I first moved in, we were going to get our laundary at the laundary place in the complex, it was about 2130 and dark, and we ended up calling the police because we saw a bum with a raggedy hat and outfit sleeping on the table where you fold your clothes, we waited for the cops to come and arrest the man or give him a lift to the shelter, turned out he was the ------- security guard!!!! Wow, some security, we now sleep with a bouey knife in between the matress and a loaded gun under the bed, we were told by the complex that he was undercover, mind you he had to be at least 68 years old!!! In broad daylight, I saw a delivery girl from Dominoe's pizza get her car jacked as she was delivering pizza to someone's door!!! I walked down to the dumpster right as dusk was settling, and I was followed by three older looking ------- ameican boys who picked up their pace as I did, I ran to the house and threw open the door, I locked it and banged on it for about 10 seconds and ran off. I was going to call the police, but what proof did I have? The top part of my door where I lock it when I leave, I am sure has been messed with, there are scratch marks alllllllllll over it and my neighbors is the same way. My car was broken into in March as well as like 18 other peoples cars, my window had to be replaced, and all that was stolen was my stock radio and a zippo lighter, they also ripped apart my control pannel, so I guess they tried to hotwire my car, but it's and '05, and the dealership said that it couldnt be done, thank God, the appartment complex said, sorry, there was nothing they could do!!! The pool that is not by the club house is ALWAYS dirty, and instead of clenaing it they just add more chemicals and it stinks, I am pregnant and afraid to go in the water. I have had people not just at night knocking on my door which happens at least once a week, but in the middle of the day, I will be out talking to my neighbor and usually guys, will pull up and ask me "Got any green, or rocks?" I politely say "no" because I dont want to get shot!!! I'm a 21 year old very pregnant white girl, where would I get that stuff and why would I do that to my baby? Stupid people I swear!!! IT IS SO UNSAFE HERE, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR, SPEND THE MONEY GO SOMEWHERE SAFE, MY HUSBAND AND I ARE BREAKING OUR LEASE!!!! This is no place to live, he is in the Navy, but we are getting as far away from these crazy-ass crack addicts and dope-pheins as we can!!!!! DONT LIVE HERE!!!! AND THE MANAGEMENT TEAM IS AWFUL,except, Linda, she's a sweetheart, and she is always willing to help. We had a lot of problems initially with PSD, and navy housing, the money was getting all screwed up and we did everything we were told and they threatened to evict us because PSD was taking so long to get everything worked out, so they may say they care, but they dont!!! Karen and Jackie are the worst!!! They always redirect your call or lie to you or hang up on you if you are calling to complain. |

Are you sure you both don't live in my apartment??! It's "nice" to know it's not just us, and others are having these same problems. Of course, NO ONE should have to go through these problems. I'll be writing my own review to correspond with everyone else's.
