We absolutely love this place. We moved from a really shady part of town off of mcduff and post street, on the "other side of the tracks."
The rent is substantially cheaper than any other apartment we had looked for and in addition then largest in square footage. A lot has changed they pretty much cleaned house, hired night time security , are in the process of replacing all the roofs, we have pest control every 6 months and occasionally we have had an ant or a palmetto roach crawl in, but they have always hastily amended any situation. It helps to get to know your maintence crew and be friendly and courteous. Pay rent on time and they will bend over backwards to keep you. We also have a neighborhood watch meeting and several community get-to-know-your-neighbors barbeques, and a community yard sale that happens 2X a year. The only complaint that I have is we are not allowed to use our grill, when we first moved in the lease said we could use a gas grill and now they have prohibited them ad we have to keep up with the office staff to make sure our needs don't get lost in the shuffle. Also, yes we have our neighborhood problems but get involved and pay attention to your surroundings making sure to report suspicious activity to the office and things will get better. I have also taken the time to get to know my local law enforcement patrol officers and they an excellent representation of the best that JSO has to offer. The best recmmendation I could give to any potential renters is to ask questions about the apartments history such as past a/c unit problems and plumbing, and talk to the people that you may potentially live next door to, they may or may not be your cup of tea, in that case find a place that more befits your life style. When we came to mission springs our main concern was to be in a quiet area because of our work schedules we needed our sleep in the mornigs and the accomidated us well. Good luck and happy hunting:)

You must either work at these apartments or have completely lost your mind. You should be ashamed of the deceitful tactics you are using to get people to rent here. First of all, this is not "the other side of the tracks". This place has had more than its share of crime, including at least one murder in 2007. The police show up not to patrol the neighborhood, but to raid apartments where drugs are obviously being sold. The "night time security" is a myth as far as I am concerned because I have never seen them, and I arrive home from work after midnight everyday during the week. The roofing IS being replaced, but only because it is falling apart. In the last three years only two buildings have been completed. The rest of the neighborhood still has leaky roofs and extremely moldy attics. If you have asthma or allergies, you will suffer. The carpet is dyed after being superficially cleaned, not replaced. The linoleum floors have been laid over existing floors, possibly more than once, and therefore have moisture trapped between the layers that has the potential to produce toxic gasses and molds. The units are all very old (at least 35 years) so trying to research and choose one based on its maintenance history is nearly impossible. If you do manage to actually find a fully functional unit and are able to look past the shoddy workmanship of its construction as well as the total lack of landscaping, be aware that the units are incredibly energy inefficient. The money you think you will be saving on rent will come out of your wallet when the electric bill comes. The staff WILL bend over backwards, but only to ignore you unless you are bringing them money. If you fail to take my advise and decide to move in here, buy a gun, put on a respirator, and enjoy watching the place fall down around your ears.
