I lived in the Oaks Apartments (653 Monument Road) from Sept 05 - Aug 08 in Apartment 901 and it was the WORST experience of my 20 years in the Navy!!! My apartment was was broken into TWICE, the vehicles in the parking lot are ALWAYS being broken into, there are drug dealings / marijuana smoking going on which maintenance also knows of; when I would walk out of my apartment there were always a group of people sitting on the steps leading up the stairs smoking pot, the building I lived in was not lit at all, the so called "security" would either sit in front of the complex in their vehicles or in the back of the complex-in their vehicles on their cell phones instead of policing the grounds......need I go on. As far as the physical apartment itself: it was adequete. I went to the front desk on numerous occations to let the staff know what was going on and nothing was ever done. If you value your household belongings I would DISCOURAGE you from making this your home!! I'm thankful I'm in the military and that it was time for me to transfer in more ways than one! If you move into Apt 901 you too will be broken into until corrective actions by the staff are taken.
