I have been living here for about seven or eight months now. Since I have moved here, I have had numerous problems with the drains, in both the shower and in the sink in the kitchen. (Taking a shower means that you will have bath water to your shins in no time,) Not only is the setup poor, but there are NO parking spaces to speak of, because of all of the ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS that the Palms staff and owners turn a blind eye to. There have been numerous shootings including in the wooded area in front of my apartment, where someone shot himself accidentally with a colt .45!(that's when all the cops came, and the illegals left, and voila! parking!) Break-ins happen on a regular basis as well. There are people openly drinking and partying in the parking lots at all times, and the sheriff's office has been called out more times than I can count. The noise level is atrocious, especially in some places, where there are at least six people living in a tiny two bedroom apartment. The gate has worked maybe a total of a month since I have moved here, and it is continually broken down, and then put back up without warning(and if you don't have your gate pass, you just do like everyone else, and wait for someone to go thru and allow five-six cars after them!) Maintenance is pretty prompt, but they can visit three to four times on the same issue and still not have the problem resolved. My husband and I have a crack in our ceiling of the bathroom that is getting bigger by the week, and both towel racks have fallen off the wall at least twice, leaving caulk and plaster all over! There is an in unit washer/dryer combo that doesn't dry, so we simply take our laundry over to the driers, which you have to pay for. There are also stray cats running absolutely everywhere on the property, and that does nothing to help the roaches that pour out of your drains, walls, and sockets! I would say that the only people who WANT to live here are the people who are unable to find another place to live, or are illegals.

i am right there with you... i live right around the same area, and have had all the same problems as you have. i think that we should form some kind of petition to let us out of our lease. i have a 1 1/2 year old daughter and do not want to stay there becuase of the break-ins. there was an attempted burglary last night and the cops were shining their lights into our living room windows... this place is absolutely scary!!!

I completley agree with you. I lived there from July 2007-Oct 2007. And i had to get out of there. I called the police on multiple occasions including once at 2am, when i heard glass smashing down stairs. The police officer then informed me i was lucky i didnt get shot! So i left and now i owe the plams 4,354 dollars for breaking my lease. A price i am willing to pay for my safety.

The police use the apartments to entrap gangs, drug dealers and gun sellers. They have several informants living in the apartments . They want the criminals there so they can makes busts. They will never chase them off. Its called apartment task force II and III they work in conjunction with the DEA and other federal agencies. They get federal money from these operations so they have no desire to run off the bad guys. The apartment management is working directly with the police and there maintenance workers will inform on you.
