Shooting at Paradise Lost

Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2005
If shootings and non-stop partying by young kids is your bag, then this will be your kind of place. The property seems nice when you first drive in, but appearances are terribly deceiving. A tenant shot a member of a burglary ring that was hitting apartment complexes in the Southside area. Seemingly the guy finally got fed up of what is going on around this complex (scary types are always hanging around here) and took the law into his own hands after an altercation with one of the gang members; happened the first week of Jan 2005 and you can read about in on-line. Another problem is cars constantly screaming through parking lot at speeds never intended for parking lots; someone or some child is going to get hit one day, that’s inevitable. Large dogs over 25 lbs. are welcome here so you better like large dogs; will see Pit Bulls roaming off leash while their owners stroll proudly along and give you major attitude. If you have little kids, this is something you really would want to consider. Outside lights never replaced unless you make numerous stops in person to the main office to complain. Big time security problems here, folks. WARNING: there is absolutely no (repeat: no) insulation between walls and floors; if you are on the first or second floors you are in a very bad position, as you will hear everything. Also, if you’re over the age of 30 (like we are) and are respectful of your fellow renters, you’re sadly in the minority. This place caters to very young and/or transient types who like to party, “entertain guests” and crank up the tunes until all hours during the weekend as well as during the week. Some very rude and inconsiderate people reside here. For example, an upstairs neighbor who started moving in at 9 PM on a Friday night and continued ALL NIGHT LONG until 5:30 AM the next morning!! You get the idea. Management has a vested interest is to keep this place full to maximum capacity and rent to anyone with a pulse and a deposit. Background checks' Nonexistent. They do not care about keeping decent tenants. I’ve read and agree with the accuracy of the “No” reviews, especially the one directly before this one. I wish we’d read these reviews prior to signing a lease because there is so much truth in what these people are saying. But, you’ve been warned to go elsewhere so consider yourself fortunate. No one should go through the absolute hell we did residing at Paradise Lost. vWhRVi5nYYIuEh4W7K3l
