I was really satisfied with Pickwick.
The landlords are very nice and friendly; they always take care of every little problem as soon as possible. There are several maintenance men keeping the apartment complex pretty and clean (although they sometimes start very early in the morning - which can be quite noisy).
Although it is so close to San Jose, it is quiet and peaceful. Ducks walk through the complex and hang out at the playground.
There are enough parking spots so nobody has to circle the complex for hours.
There is a laundry mat; one load costs 5x25cent.
Although everybody kept saying that there are lots of elderly residents I found the number of families and children quite high.
The only thing I really did not like: the thin walls. You can hear your neighbors, particularly when they close their doors. Even if they are quiet you know when they are home and when not. So it's definitely not the place to crank up your system and listen to some death metal.
The buildings and appliances in the kitchen are rather old but that didn't bother me too much. Walkways are always well-lit and I have never felt unsafe.

Overall a very nice apartment complex. I enjoyed staying there.
