I went on this site before I agreed to live at Portofino for a few months and I wish I had listened to the majority of these postings.
The apartment I was given was in POOR condition. The kitchen pipes kept breaking, the dishwasher broke the second week and leaked water all over the kitchen and the dining room, there was a serious bug problem in the apartment, and the garbage disposal broke. At one point, maintenance actually ignored my request for repairs and then tried to lie to Execustay (where I rented the apt from) to cover it up. By the time I left, I was so frustrated that I couldn't even bother reporting anything anymore because I was made to feel so uncomfortable. And all of this happened in only two months of staying there.
I also had the opportunity to stay at the Reserve at James Island and it was like night and day! My apartment at the Reserve was lovely, the staff was responsive and courteous and I did not encounter one problem while I was there. Obviously, Portofino cares so little about their. apartments and their residents that they do not properly inspect them before the residents move in.
Also, I think it is pretty apparent that the poster on 3/12 on this site is actually one of the staff there...no one could possibly write that about this place unless they were trying to sell something.
