I recently applied to rent a unit from these people. I got a call from my "professional" leasing agent the next day. They're turning me down because I have a misdemeanor on my record from 1984 (yes, 23 years ago) for operating a boat without a license.

Whether or not it's true (it isn't) telling someone you won't rent to them because of a boating ticket from 23 years prior pretty much says it all about their abilities regarding the use of common sense.

To those of you already renting there, God help you. To everyone else - there are much better options out there.

One other little tidbit - check the ratings for the Aventine. They're even lower than Portofino (if you can believe it). The management company "managing" the Aventine just took over at Portofino. Like I said, God help you.
