Q: Really, how bad is it?
A: Hi There:

My husband and I have lived here since November and I am still baffled by some of the negative comments posted here. Our apartment is beautiful, the neighbors are nice, grounds are kept well and the office has always been responsive to my calls. I am a harsh critic having lived in some "upscale" communities which have been less than that. I have nothing but nice things to say. Keep an open mind, drive through the complex at different times of the day and maybe stop and talk to some of the people living here now to get a better feel for yourself. Good luck!

Q: My family is holding and apartment at the Antlers and as I read the ratings.. Is it that bad honestly?
A: I have lived at the Antlers for 2 years and was happy until last week when I got my renewal letter. I even posted a review on here saying it was good. They want to raise my rent again, and after looking at different apartments that are available in the area, and private condos in the same area for rent, the Antlers is no longer competitive. They are totally trying to rip me off! I tried to negotiate with them since last year leases were negotiable but I was told that they have changed their policies and cannot negotiate. I have found a condo in a better community that is renovated for less than they wanted me to pay for my old, not renovated apartment. I would recommend you look for a better deal elsewhere.

To be honest, I do believe the neighborhood is safe and have never had any problems safety wise, and I live alone, a single woman. The grounds are well maintained also. however, I do not believe these apartments are a good value for the money. Also, there is an issue with spiders. I have had them spray my apartment twice recently for spiders and still always find several of them. It's not to the point that I would move just for that, but I am moving because I found a better value somewhere else and they were unwilling to work with me on the rent even though I have been a good resident for 2 years.

Q: Are your apartments hud apartments?
A: I lived in Lighthouse Bay apartments approximately 6 years ago. When I moved out, I believe that they were participating in the Section 8 program. The reason for my departure from Lighthouse Bay was due to a car break-in, followed by a burglary, a few months later. I pray that this answers your question.

Q: How long does it take work you request to be completed? Do you have to ask multiple times?
A: Yes I have to ask several times and then verify if the request was ever put in to mainteance. I would suggest never leaving a messgage for a request to be done, just call the front office and verify that it will be noted.

Q: How far is this apartment from UNF? Are the apartments furnished?
A: It is about 10-15 minutes away.. very close.. they are not furnished though. you may be able to get them furnished i am not sure if they have changed anything since i lived there.
