Disgusting

I could never fully describe how sub-human the conditions are at this complex. First of all, there ARE rodents. There were rat droppings and nesting material in the cabinets and behind the dishwasher when I moved in. There are roaches, and they do not do pest control. They just apparently started when the new manager came, and have done it a few times, but it seems to have stopped. They WON'T fix anything- don't even ask. They just don't have it in their budget. They've told me and other neighbors this. Pretty much only emergency maintenance if you're lucky.
Everyone I know in the complex has an a/c that either doesn't ever work, or only works sometimes when they can get the maintenance guy to come put freon into it (most are constantly leaking freon but they won't fix them right or get new ones as told to me by a maintenance guy himself who has since quit). That's another issue- they can't keep maintenance people, they're always quitting and I think they have two people right now.
Even though a/c being broken is an emergency maintenance issue, it takes them days to get out and look at yours, sometimes longer. Even then they only just add a little freon, and you know it is going to happen again in about a month. The model seemed decent and it didn't seem too bad at first glance, but the apartment I really got was a nightmare. Disgusting old yellowed flooring and dirty stained carpet, as well as dirty vent systems have been making me literally sick since I've been there.
My downstairs neighbor got robbed a few nights ago, and there are constant sketchies wandering through the neighborhood. That's not to mention all the sketchies that actually live there! It is very scary to live here, as well as being dirty and unmaintained. There is new management, but you sure wouldn't know it except for a stupid newsletter.
