My family moved in 2/2008. Since then I can tell you that this place is nothing more than a cheaply built apartment complex with a high rent. The alarm systems in place are almost out of date (according to an alarm company technician). The kitchen cabinets are peeling. There is poor insulation.

How about the A/C unit' It had to be serviced twice with the unit having to be replaced. Even with all that, the A/C unit still kicks on even though the temp in the apartment is lower than the setting. I guess that explains the $200-300 JEA bill. That with completing JEA's Energy Audit and implementing all suggestions that we could.

Oh and then there is the slow response from maintenance and the miscommunication between them and the office! We had a garbage disposal issue. After the maintenance man repaired it, he not only left a mess under the sink but also neglected to change the filter! It smelled like sewage. When my husband placed a maintenance request, the assistant manager labelled the request as "routine" and so we got pushed to the bototm of the pile. Some 6 weeks later and 3 phone calls, the manager realized that it was an urgent manner and someone attempted to fix the issue the next day. What was interesting is that the maintenance man claimed to make the repair and suggested that I pour Clorox down the drain while running the disposal. In talking to some professionals, they said that was the worst thing I could do for my disposal. It would cause the entire unit to break.

Thre was also an issue with the vertical blinds in the living room. They had been broken since we moved in and nothing was done until my son severely cut himself opening those blinds! It took that issue to make them come and replace the entire set.

Another problem is the mentality of some of the other residents with dogs. I have a German Shepherd who is well behaved. I have had other dog owners allow their pets to go after her (a "nice" thug with a Boxer). There also has been an incident with a Black Lab whose owner refuses to put his pet in a leash.

In any case, my husband and I are fed up. This place is not worth the $1299.00 in rent. odusyNYCcZ7yL3Bj5JtG

First of all, I am your neighbor, and you DO NOT pick up your dog crap! Your german shepard is NOT well-behaved, though you seem to think it is. I think you are a part of the "mentality" you are speaking of. And what's with leaving your dog on the patio all day? You always have notices on your door. Seems like you are just lashing out because you got in trouble. If you are fed up, why don't you just leave?
