You are living in paradise and dont know it

My daughter just moved there from South Carolina and is in sheer heaven. It is the nicest apartment she has ever lived in. I live in San Francisco Cali. I've been checking out web info about Rigistry because my husband and I hope to God that we can leave this place and move there in the next couple of years. I've also been looking at all other apartments that Jacksonville has to offer. You are all living in paradise compared to what we are forced to live in here. Here you get a very old slum of an apartment in a horrible neighborhood, and I'm talking "the hood" type of neighbor hood not a neighbor hood like you all have there where beer parties get a little to loud or someone's dog pooped on the beautiful land scape. Here in an apartment you do not so much as get a garbage desposal nor even a dish washer. The carpet is from the 1980s so are what few appliences you get. Which is a stove and a fridge. I swear it is like this I am not lying. Dont even ask about the toilet. You get one thats it. No air condidtioning but thank God we dont need that much but on the few hot days we do have it would be nice to have it. And when you move in the carpets are not even cleaned nor the walls even painted. And the kitchen is so small only one at a time can fit in it. While you get two bedrooms they are barely big enough to put a regular size bed in them and nothing else. Forget luxuries like a patio or a swimming pool. Not that you would even want a pool because its so dreary and cold here most times who wants to swim' Want to keep a pet' Plan on paying at least a thousand dollar pet deposit. And that is the rare chance that you can find any place any where that will even accept that. Even for cats. If you think your in luck because you have no pets forget it. Your security deposit is a thousand bucks too. AND YOU DONT EVEN GET PAINTED WALLS NOR CLEANED CARPET! AND NO PLACE TO EVEN WASH YOUR CLOTHES! what the heck that deposit is for I dont have any idea!

Now want to know how much the rent is for this "LUXURY" apartment' 1,500 bucks a month! AND THATS CHEAP COMPARED TO MOST OF THE OTHERS!

Want to buy a house' HA HA HA HA!!! Well, does the movie "boyz in the hood" mean any thing to you' Thats the only houses in most peoples price range and even those cost close to a million bucks. And the parking! There is very little so if you have more than one car plan on walking a long way up some very steep hills in a horrible neighborhood. Forget the car. Just take the bus.

We bought a 108 year old victorian house in a slummy neighbor hood that we are going to restore and pray to God we can sell for enough money to get the hell out of here!

I looked on the web at apartment complexes there in Jacksonville because my daughter moved there. I almost fainted. It is a paradise compared to what we have to live in and put up with here all just so we can say we live in the BEAUTIFUL CITY OF SAN FRANCISCO! All so we can look at the bridge. Well I cant see the bridge from this falling down old house.

We bought the house before the market went to the crapper. Now if we dont get the money for this house that we hoped to get I might have to die in this place!

No no no. I refuse to give up. I have always dreamed of living in Florida and I am not going to give up that dream.

My husband is a self employed general contractor. I just know there is a demand there for his line of work. At least thats what I've been reading on the net any way.

I'm telling you all who are lucky enough to live where you are that you have no idea just how awful it is in other parts of the country. Dont ever move to Cali because you have got it made where houseing is concerned where you are.

Here there is no new houseing at all hardly because there is no more room to build any thing new. And what little there is you have to have Bill Gates money to even hope of getting a nice place like that.

Do you know how much an apartment like the ones at registry would cost if it were here'

More than 2 thousand a month! If you could even find one half that nice. Even Registry's one bed rooms here would be close to 2 thousand.

Every thing here is old and ugly. Its like they stopped building in the 1960s.

GOD PLEASE GET ME OUT OF HERE! I WOULD GLADLY SPEND THE REST OF MY DAYS IN A PLACE LIKE REGISTRY AND NEVER COMPLAIN ABOUT ANY THING. And my daughter is there too.

(sigh) Well, not that any one cares but I just felt the need to rant.

If there is one thing I know about Florida people is that you tend to be a nice friendly people with big hearts.

So please pray for me that some day I get to be a Floridian myself. And thank your lucky stars that you at least have some good housing choices where you live because you sure would not have even half of that stuff here. I cannot get over it. Even screened in patios and lakes to look at, and pools, and fitness centers. Amazing!

Sincerly
A poor stranded soul in San Francisco California.
