Not the greatest, but not bad.

It's not bad, but it's not good. The cons definitely outweigh the pros.
Pros: great location, very quiet neighbors, large floor plans, huge kitchen, in-unit washer and dryer, parties by the pools, haunted house for halloween, nice office staff.
Cons: parking is horrible, jacuzzi has never worked in the time I've lived here, random stray animals (the office staff even takes care of the stray cats!), random kids jumping the fence from other complexes, slow maintenence.
Our 1 bedroom apartment was HUGE in comparison to the other complexes in the area. Kitchen is huge. I loved that we had a washer and dryer in the unit and we didn't have to rent one.
I have never once heard my neighbors. My boyfriend has surround sound and we always blast it while watching movies, even late at night. No one has ever complained. I think the walls are pretty thick! It's nice.
Parking, at least in my building, is a nightmare. Sometimes I come home and I have to park across the street! My boyfriend has gotten things stolen off of his car, and even caught someone in the process of breaking into his car!
The office has to be called at least 3 times for a problem to be fixed, and even then.. it takes about a week to get done.
Honestly it's really not a bad place, and it's decently priced for what you get in the Deerwood area. But I am not renewing my lease. mgFDbN4-dhkSMZ7zRmVH

I suggest Green Tree Place Apartments. I almost moved there. They have a WORKING gate.. and the apartments are pretty nice with a w/d included. Nothing sketchy that I saw when I took my tour.

I have been searching for an apartment in Jacksonville in an area that is suitable for a single female... I know there are several complexes along Southside that are very questionable. You would think that ONE of these places would invest in a gate to help prevent theft/ sketchy people from entering.

A gate is only as good as how often it works. Several of those communities were gated at one point or another but honestly, if someone wants to get in badly enough, they will.
