River Bend Apartments

Looks can be Deceiving From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 8/30/2003 Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2003   When we moved in here late in 2002, we were shown an apartment as the model that we were not interested in. They only have the one model and it is the smallest one bedroom and you have to use your imagination. The location of the office is possibly the nicest location on the entire property. It is located right on the St Johns River. So as you are sitting there getting the information on apartments you are looking at this beautiful view. Make sure that you look really closely at the view as you are entering the "only" entrance into the apartment. Like I read in another of these comments, the gate never works. When I moved in last year I noticed that and when I commented we were given cards and told that the gate would be working in a couple of weeks. That was 8 months ago. There is a bus stop right outside of the property and I dont know how many times I have left to run errands and see someone sitting on the bench waiting on the bus and come back 30 mins later and that same person is roaming down the main street of the complex. Do they belong here' I dont know, but a security gate that worked might resolve some of that issue. Not to mention that there are several holes in the fence that are used as short cuts through the property. When I came to this part of town I was really disappointed with the Arlington area. I thought that being inside an apartment complex might shelter us from some of that. Dont be mislead it doesnt. If you like the Arlington area and with that I mean along the Expwy then you might enjoy it. I DONT !! Maintenance Staff' I dont think there is one. I was gone and my wife called to have the closet rod repaired as well as the door to the utility closet. That was two months ago. We had to take care of it ourself about a month ago. You are told that the staff will be notified but you usually just end up taking care of the issue yourself. The landscaping is terrible. This is August and I still have leaves from last fall. I have never seen "green" grass. I went looking at other complexes and was not sure how they were able to get their grass so green. I think that it is a matter of just a little work and a staff that cares.
