Stopped by while apt searching

I didn't go with them. First strike is that the one and only pool wasn't working (just blocked off with a "closed" sign). I asked the agent why, and she ignored me -- changing the subject. When I was sitting, telling her what type of apt. I was looking for, we were interrupted by the cleaning lady. Without a word, the agent got up and left the room to talk with her for about 4-5 minutes. She apologized when she returned, but I was a bit put-off by their lack focus on me . . . a possible new renter. The phone was never answered while I was sitting there - about 15-20 minutes - even though there was another agent present. The apt. was okay, nothing special, but smelled like smoke. Also, on their price sheet guide for move-in, there were TONS of fees. $250 admin fee, $350 pet fee, $10 month pet rent, $200 fee for this . . . $50 more for that, etc . . It would cost me nearly $800 in fees/deposits just to move in! That doesn't even take into account the first months rent. Considering there are two other apt. complexes (with similar rates) literally right next door, they better get their act together.
