Nice home between homes

Years at this apartment: 2004-01-01 - 2004-01-01
So, the wife gives me the boot and I needed a place to live while I looked for more permanent accomodations. I looked at a lot of apartments, but I kept coming back to Sail Cove. The office staff was very nice (pretty hot, too). The florplans are spacious-much larger than the cracker boxes offered by others in the area for the price. But they are 10 years old, and it shows in some regards. They have a sister community, Village Walk, a little further down Gate Parkway with the same floorplans for not much more rent and they're brand new, so I think they are a better value (they didn't have any 1 BR's available when I rented). My experience was good at Sail Cove. I lived in the back (building 7). My building backed up to the Colony at Deerwood. Now there's a lively bunch. There was always something going on over there-shouting, cursing, loud music, tires screeching, etc. But I never even noticed unless I was outside on my patio. Inside with the doors closed, I couldn't hear a thing. I never heard my neighbors much, except the woman upstairs liked to vacuum at 1:00 am. It wasn't that loud, though. The fitness center is ok, not great. It's kind of small. 4 or 5 is a crowd in there. Parking wasn't a problem. I almost always parked in the same spot, unless some bastard got to it before I got there. The neighbors were mostly pretty nice, but these are apartments, so there's that transient element. And if you think that price keeps out the riff-raff, consider that a 3 BR @ $1200/3=$400. Which can = riff-raff. I never had to call maintenance, so I can't speak to that. That's all.
