We moved into this community on August 14, rather the 15, they closed the office early and had my boyfriend rush through the paperwork. We were concerned because they weren't able to get our gate cards to us that day and made us wait until the next day. We were under the impression that the gates worked, but they didn't (suprise, suprise). And so we moved in. Our first weekend there the pipes under the sink flooded out the bathroom. After a call into maintenance, they told us that it was the tub fixture that was leaking... so we had to call again to have the replace the pipes under the sink. The following weekend, everything was fine, except for the man that liked to rev his engine at ungodly hours of the night, the peoples that liked to hang out on the steps pretending that they were rappers, and the people that sit in the parking lot listening to their systems. Next weekend comes and we were faced with Hurrican Frances. All was well until we realized that from all the rain our apartment began to flood from water leaking in through the wall and the ceiling. An entire wall in the bedroom in now wet and swollen from the water damage, nevermind the mold and mildew that is now growing under the soaked carpet. In the midst of ealing with all of this, the a/c unit drain backs up and floods the hallway. It looked as if the drains had never been cleaned since the community was built in the late 1980's. When I approaced the leasing staff about all these problems and voiced my concern with the unit, they weren't of much help. I had to come back the next day to clarify what was going on and had to restress the importance of this issue - because of the mold. After the staff refused to speak with me, the manager came out and "helped" me with my probelms. She gave me some options, move to another apartment or vacate the lease free of charge. After all these probelms, my boyfriend and I are greatly considering vacating the lease. We don't feel comortable living with the ragged sorts of people that make up our neighbors and even more don't wan't to deal with the management anymore. Oh, and beware of the speeders and tailgaters...
