The District was once called Melrose until recently. Terrible establishment. Their professionalism is at an all time low with the new management. If you dig up enough dirt you'll see that this place has a pretty bad past. I've heard from other tenants and not to mention from personal experience that their employees barge right on in. Their policy is to knock three times, however if the three knocks occur over the course of five seconds then what good does that do' They're also allowed to enter during the day as they see fit. Quite alarming isn't it' The roommate matching process is a joke. You're supposed to list your interests at the time of signing the lease so they can group you with roommates, but after all the roommates I've been through its safe to say filling out the form is really quite useless. Also, instead of offering a standard key for your door. They give you a key card, and they only give you one. If you lose the only key you have, then you owe them 25$ to get a new key card to get in the apartment you're already paying a lot money to live in. And say you lock your key inside your apartment' Bam! 5 dollars for them to open the door. I don't know about you, but as a college student, cash is hard to come by and often times I barely have enough room in my wallet to shell out for groceries, let alone pay to get into what I unfortunately have to call my home. Don't get me wrong, there are some perks, but minimal at best. There's always location and maintenance is pretty good. They come quick if you ask for it. But I think out of the 2 years or so that I've been obligated to live here they have only ever came in to change my air filter once. Their gym facilities are alright, the smith machine doesn't go low enough if you're doing some dead lifts, but at least they finally got a curling bar and new free weights.
