Great for students

I've been living at the plaza for about 6 months now. I'm a college student and this is my first apartment. I have to say that the online pictures of the apartment community were a little misleading. But aren't they all' It seems every time I go into the office there are new office staff. The office staff that I dealt with were all fired about 1 month after I moved in and the new staff seem overly busy while taking my rent payment and pushing me out of the door at the same time. I think they could be a bit more friendly. As far as the maintenance/security man, he is excellent! Every time I have a complaint or problem I never go to the office staff I talk to Bill, he is very friendly and helpful. I did have a small problem with the maintenance company that works here. One man came into my apartment without me knowing to check the fire extinguisher and left my door unlocked. So I came home after a 3 day weekend to an unlocked apartment! I was furious! I immediately went to the office staff who didn't have much of an answer for me. But I can say that the new apartment manager did seem inclined to help solve my problem. I went to Bill (the maintenance/security man) about my problem and he took care of it. He immediately knew who it was that went into my apartment, talked to his supervisor and the man who left my door unlocked was reprimanded. As far as amenities, there are not many. If you have kids there is no play area but the swimming pool is always clean. We do have a tennis court but it's always very lonely. The laundry facilities are not up to par in my opinion. I don't like them because you have to go through the hastle of loading your money onto the card and then you have to deal with the dryer taking $10 from your card and then not working. It's just so much easier for me to go down the road to a coin laundry. As far as the apartment itself, my apartment is clean and nice. I have had not problems with my apartment. It's very simple, nothing fancy. I think the plaza would be a great starter apartment or student apartment. Especially for JU students since it's like 2min from the campus. I have a one bedroom apartment and I pay $530 a month which is not bad at all for a nice, clean apartment community. Parking is great. There is no assigned parking and the lighting at night is okay. I have seen no crime since I've moved in. We do also have a curtosy officer that lives on site. He seems friendly and helpful. Also, all of my neighbors are very nice and friendly. Overall I like the plaza apartments. I think it just depends what exactly you are looking for in an apartment. Why I chose the plaza is because this is a nice, safe apartment for a young, single female. I love my huge walk-in closet. I got into this apartment with not credit, I only had to pay double the rent as my security deposit. The rent is a great deal for a nice, clean apartment community. The downside for me was there is no gym and it is a pet free community. I hope this review was helpful and happy apartment hunting!!!
