Victory Pointe is an apartment complex that is ran by the Jacksonville Housing Authority under the supervision of HUD, or the Department of Housing and Urban Development. HUD is a federal agency that helps people with housing.
The complex itself is not all that bad. The rooms are a little small compared to the last place my family and I lived. The manager is a bit of a @#$%! according to some residents, but she has always been nice to my family and me.
There is ample parking and plenty of space for children to play. It is relatively safe. It is safer than many parts of Jacksonville. A check of Duval County's crime statistics show that there are few crimes reported in the general area when compared to other areas of the city.
Living in public housing is a bit intrusive though. Someone always has a reason to come in your apartment for some reason, rather it be to inspect or to spray o prevent a pest problem.
It is a wonder stepping stone for people who need low income housing until they can do better.
