Villages of Baymeadows formerly Baymeadows Apartment
< | >
I have to admit, I enjoyed my apartment for the first year and a half I was here. I have an awesome view of the lake and I really enjoy the ducks and other animals that reside here.
Then the radio was stolen out of my car.
When my a/c went out, my family and I were left to sweat it out for over six weeks during July and August. They did give me $200 off my rent, but refused to communicate with me at all during those six weeks, which made me madder than going without air conditioning. The maintenance office has never once responded to any of the voice mails I have left, and when I would go to the office directly, they would tell me to go back home and someone would call, which never happened. I have had four different a/c guys tell me that the reason my apt won't cool is because the ductwork has holes in it, which has never been repaired. My electric bill for a 2/2, 1300sf apt is over $250 a month, because I am cooling the attic in my building. But nobody here gives a damn.
The crown molding and baseboards are all pulling away from the walls. So bad that they had to come scrape and retexture the ceilings because it was pulling down the popcorn. Now my ceilings are three different shades of white and yellow.
Not to mention the plumbing leaks in the bathroom and the way the wall is rotted out from the shower leaking inside the wall, and my toilet leaking into the downstairs neighbors bathroom.
The most disgusting thing is that now they ask residents to leave their garbage in the hallways! It is more than unsightly, not to mention the aroma of dirty diapers in the corridors. It's downright embarrassing when company comes over. I refuse to leave my trash outside my front door, I still carry it to the dumpster, I just wish my neighbors felt the same. How does the leasing office get this to fly with new prospects, when you show someone an apartment and there is rancid garbage cluttering the hallways' I would not be impressed in the least.
Finally, don't ever go month to month here. We are moving, and to stay an additional 30 days after lease end cost me over $400. I don't see how this is legal, but I just don't have it in me to fight yet another losing battle with these unreasonable, one-sided folks. I am going to pay their 'current market value' rental rate and their unfair fines, and I guarantee I will tell EVERYONE that will listen to me about how I feel about the Villages of Baymeadows!

i TOTALLY AGREE WITH U !! I was thinking I was the only one with a beautiful lake view but leaking ceilings, smelly hallways and a maintenance office that could care less that i can never take a bath in the place b/c the water will end up in my downstairs kitchen lights! I'm leaving too i've got 3 more months and very tempted to just break my lease.
